Hi, Every One, this is my first post, and the journey for the investment ideas begin today. It has been a year now when I started my investing, and journey has been bumpier than anything I have ever experienced. As not a part of the finance academia, field always had a mysterious enigma to me; I wanted to learn it but had no idea where to start. So this initiative is for people who want to, but couldn’t for some reasons understand or follow it.
For past one year I have tried to learn the concept by trying to do everything and anything, have bought Stocks, played with Futures and Options, ETF, Mutual Funds, FD/RD ,Insurance, Gold and believe u me, I have had my share of losses, stupid calls, WTF moments. This all has a great effect, I have started to understand things on my own and it feels really good.
Today I will begin with the purpose, WHY INVESTING.
Ask a few basic questions to yourself. Do I have the security to weather the future high cost life for me and my family, Is my current source of income could fulfill my future and big materialistic desires. I hope u got the gist of what I want to say. Most of my friends and colleagues follow their parents investment style of LIC and some other instruments and that is very good as their experience and understanding is what makes those investment very sound and safe. But things have changed over the period, with the knowledge and technology at our disposal we could do much better in terms of the growth than what our parents did. And above that there is the sense of accomplishment and joy on doing things on our own.
There are few prerequisites
· Do u have your own money, a part of which you want to Invest?
· Do u believe in concept of Long term systematic savings can become a big pie by compounding.
· Do u have guts to take you financial decisions and live with them.
